PDR: Virtually Live

Back in 2021, with COVID restrictions still having a significant impact on the British holiday resort industry, Parkdean Resorts sought innovative ways to reaffirm their status as a leader in live entertainment. At a time when live entertainment venues were unable to open due to social distancing regulations, the challenge was to find a creative solution that would keep their guests and residents engaged.

The answer was Parkdean Resorts: Virtually Live, a groundbreaking 10-episode series showcasing live performances from an impressive roster of talent, including Alex Horne and The Horne Section, the cast of Coronation Street, celebrity chef Matt Tebbutt, and many more.

Our video production team played a pivotal role in bringing this ambitious project to life. The majority of the episodes were filmed in a socially-distanced studio environment, where we managed every aspect of production, from lighting and sound design to camera operation and directing, all within strict COVID guidelines.  For other episodes, we took a mobile approach, traveling across the country to film in a diverse range of locations—including homes, offices, and outdoor settings. These shoots required a multi-disciplined production strategy, as our team had to adapt quickly to different environments and logistical challenges, ensuring high-quality results every time.

Post-production was equally meticulous.  Footage was brought back to our state-of-the-art editing suite in Staffordshire, where our editors worked tirelessly to refine the episodes.  From colour grading and sound mixing to adding custom graphics and transitions, every detail was carefully considered to create a polished final product. Once completed, the episodes were broadcast every Friday to a nationwide audience via a bespoke website specifically built by our team for the project.
